So, AOL pulled the plug on Comicsalliance over the weekend, and I’m still having trouble making sense of it. CA was the reason I’m involved in any way in the comics community: if a writer at CA liked something or someone, then I knew I should check out more of their work.
Laura Hudson made me re-examine my ideas on gender and sexualization in comics, and made me cackle with her...

Troll Hunter
I’m trying to write a wider range of articles than my usual weekly comics reviews and things that no one gets to see for possible release way down the lane. Anyway, I saw Troll Hunter and dug it, and had some thoughts about it here. Give it a try, I’m feeling some things out, and I think there was more to the movie than just what I put.
Reminder
Little reminder: the comic kickstarter I’m doing with Luke Herr and Brian Wolf and Nick Rockel has a little under two weeks left. It’s going to be a very pretty book, both of them, since Luke and I managed to snag some artists that are way too talented.
